Nomination deadline passes

Diocesan shieldDetails of the 33rd Annual Convention of the Diocese 1xbet app South Africa of Southwest Florida, Oct 13 in Punta Gorda, are on-line.

In a last-minute rush to beat the July 15 deadline, nominations for seats on various panels, including the Diocesan Council, Standing Committee and the delegation of the 2003 General Convention, poured into the diocesan office.

Retired Chicago
bishop dies
in Sarasota

The Rt. Rev. Gerald Francis Burrill, 95, retired bishop of the Diocese of Chicago, died Tuesday, July 17, in Sarasota of a stroke.

Bishop Burrill was admitted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital suffering stroke-related symptoms. He died several hours later.

A requiem for Bishop Burrill is scheduled Monday, July 23, at 3 p.m. at St. Boniface Church, Siesta Key, Sarasota. Clergy are invited Coinomi in South Africa to vest and process.
